by Carrin Mahmood
We walk through the winter stillness
Amazed by sight and sound
Awed by the snowflakes whisper
Gathering on the ground
We stand on a glorious sunrise
Awash in the promise of day
Daring not to move a muscle
fearing twill slip away
We glide crackling through the forest
In wonder our thoughts are lost
Guarded by ancient soldiers
Covered by moody hoar frost.
We crunch through laers of frosting
Too heavy to stay aloft
Remembering days of our childhood
When walking came to us soft
We bask in wae of the sunset Ablaze with purples and blues
Reflecting on all the days offered
Bathed in Crystalline hues.
